It's in Scripture."<br /></span><br /><span style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);">While I wasn't completely sold on her proposed timing for the second coming, our conversation got me thinking long and hard about my priorities. Am I truly every moment of everyday taking up my cross and following Jesus? Am I taking seriously His commission to make disciples of all nations, to be His witness to the very ends of the earth?</span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);">As a woman, I appreciate the idea many young women have that God uses our season of singlehood to prepare us for our future husbands, even if no prospective husband has yet appeared on the horizon. It is striking then that we as a church, to whom God has promised an eternal bridegroom, often live our lives blissfully unaware that God wants to use our spiritual singlehood to prepare us for our marriage to Christ.</span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);">We have only this limited expanse of time in which to get ready for that eternal union. Are we now throwing off all the things that hinder and running towards our final goal? Are we setting our hearts on things above and storing up that treasure which is eternal and will be neither eaten away nor stolen? Is the praise of Jesus and the knowledge of His great love and saving grace constantly on our lips, so that all the world may know that He is Lord?</span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);">If not, then perhaps it is time for us to re-examine our lives.</span><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(51, 102, 255);">People get ready, Jesus is coming.</span><br /><br /><p><strong><em><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 102);">"Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready."
